MIKE GOLDEN

HelpMyBoomer was inspired by my family journey.

And yours.

Dan Golden, the visionary behind HelpMyBoomer, has embarked on a journey marked by both personal resilience and professional success. His story is a testament to the power of empathy, innovation, and dedication to supporting others in the caregiving community.

Inspired by his journey and recognizing the lack of resources for families in similar situations, Dan founded HelpMyBoomer. This platform is a heartfelt response to the needs of GenXers and millennials caught in the caregiving sandwich, offering resources, support, and a community for those caring for aging parents while managing their own lives. A significant part of the HelpMyBoomer story is Dan's brother, Matt, who emerged as a hero in their family's caregiving journey. Living closer to their parents, Matt played a crucial role in supporting their father with Parkinson's and their mother as her caretaker. This familial experience underscored the importance of proximity, empathy, and the collective effort in caregiving, shaping the philosophy behind HelpMyBoomer.

Dan's Story

In the personal sphere, 2020 marked a pivotal moment in Dan’s life. Amidst professional success, he faced profound personal challenges. The diagnosis of his wife’s incurable cancer and the subsequent caregiving responsibilities for his young family defined a period of immense personal growth and adaptation. During this time, Dan learned the invaluable lesson of community support and the strength found in asking for help. These experiences deeply resonated with the challenges faced by those in the “Sandwich Generation,” caring for both aging parents and young children. In Dan’s case, it was the Shit Sandwich generation since he was taking care of his aging parents, young children and an ailing partner.

In his professional capacity, Dan’s expertise is rooted in digital marketing. As the co-founder and President of Be Found Online (BFO), he led the company to remarkable heights, including six consecutive years on the Inc. 5,000 list and recognition as the #1 Best Place to Work by Ad Age. His foresight in digital trends, particularly in mobile technology, positioned him as a respected voice in the field. An engaging speaker and an adjunct lecturer at DePaul University & Northwestern University, Dan’s insights have been featured in Forbes, Huffington Post, and other renowned publications. His contributions to the industry are marked by a blend of innovation, strategic thinking, and a passion for empowering others.

Through HelpMyBoomer and AskAround.ai, Dan seeks to provide guidance, support, and a sense of community to those navigating the complex responsibilities of caring for aging parents while raising their own families. His story is one of enduring strength, the power of community, and the transformative impact of empathy and support.
